Senior Ecologist

Our candidate has 11+ years’ professional experience in the ecology and environmental sector, working across consultancy and government roles in both the UK and New Zealand. Most recently they spent 3 years with a large multidiciplinary consultancy in London as a Senior Ecologist, where they acted as Ecology Lead on a number of projects, responsible for fee preparation, budgeting, resourcing, project management, and client liaison/advice, as well as coordinating ecological surveys, licensing and reporting.

Their experience includes UK Biodiversity Net Gain assessments, Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Environmental Action Plans, Precautionary Working Method Statements, and protected species survey reports and licences, alongside a strong understanding of the UK protected species licensing framework.

They have recently relocated back to New Zealand but are keen to continue working on UK projects remotely. They hold an Irish passport (full UK work rights) and still maintains a UK bank account and London postal address, which can help make engagement straightforward.
