Meet Our Recruiter
About Profile
Currently operating at Principal level, they manage projects from initial enquiry and fee proposal through to submission. They have extensive experience delivering PEAs (Phase 1 and UKHab), protected species surveys, Ecological Impact Assessments, and high-quality technical reporting to tight deadlines. They are highly experienced in habitat and protected species survey design, data interpretation, and mitigation delivery.
Their technical strengths include:
- Named ecologist on badger mitigation licences, including sett closure and large-scale bait marking (c.1000ha DCO solar scheme)
- Class 1 GCN licence holder (Natural England and NatureScot)
- Extensive bat survey experience including ground and aerial assessments, PRA, activity and emergence surveys
- A specialist in badgers and bats, currently working towards Class 1 and 2 bat licences
- Ecological Clerk of Works experience
Their long-term preference is to remain technically and field focused rather than move into a managerial or predominantly business development-led position. They are particularly motivated by complex survey work, mitigation delivery, and maintaining a strong on-site presence, and are happy to mentor junior ecologists in the field.
The candidate also holds relevant safety certifications (PTS, CSCS, Tree Climbing & Aerial Rescue) and is comfortable with UK-wide travel and seasonal survey demands, including antisocial hours during bat season. They are looking for a salary of £47,000+.
