Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior or Associate Landscape Architect to join a respected interdisciplinary studio near Worcester. With a strong focus on landscape planning, you will lead multi‑stage projects through early feasibility to detailed design and implementation. Your role will also include mentoring junior staff and supporting small team leadership.

Projects include residential, commercial, public realm, and educational sectors, with a history of working on heritage and high‑profile institutional developments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: steward projects independently from feasibility through implementation, with a focus on RIBA early stages and LVIA delivery

  • Landscape Planning Expertise: deliver LVIAs, feasibility studies, site appraisals, strategic masterplanning, and input to environmental statementsEcology Solutions

  • Detailed Design & Technical Delivery: develop planting and hard landscape design, SuDS integration, soils, materiality, levels, specification, and maintenance strategiesEcology Solutions+2Ecology Solutions+2LinkedIn+2

  • Mentorship & Team Development: coach junior colleagues and assist with small project team management

  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: liaise with clients, planning authorities, public inquiry panels, and design review forums with confidence

  • Sustainability & Biodiversity Integration: ensure Biodiversity Net Gain, ecological connectivity, and sustainable design principles are embedded in proposalsEcology Solutions


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Degree‑qualified in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design or a related discipline

  • At least 5+ years’ UK professional experience, particularly in landscape planning and LVIA production

  • Chartered (CMLI) or working towards LI chartership

  • Demonstrable experience mentoring staff and leading small teams

  • Proficient in AutoCAD or Vectorworks, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp; Lumion desirable

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for reports, graphics and stakeholder presentations

  • Highly motivated, inquisitive and committed to environmentally-responsive placemaking
