Meet Our Recruiter
About the Role
Ocean to Earth Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a well-established ecological consultancy to recruit an Ecology Project Manager for their Major Projects team. Our client plays a vital role in delivering ecology services across some of the UK’s most complex and high-profile infrastructure projects—from road upgrades and renewable energy developments to nationally significant transport schemes.
This role is ideal for someone looking to step into a pivotal leadership position with real impact—from protected species licensing and ecological survey management, through to construction-phase oversight and nature-positive outcomes.

Overseeing licensing processes and ensuring environmental compliance

Providing site-based supervision, construction assurance, and technical support
-
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
-
Supporting and mentoring junior ecologists, and contributing to team growth
Projects vary in size and complexity—from sensitive landscapes and AONBs to multi-disciplinary infrastructure schemes requiring strategic oversight and hands-on ecological expertise.
What We're Looking For
-
Strong project management experience in the ecology or environmental consultancy sector
-
Background working on infrastructure, construction, or utility projects preferred
-
Excellent knowledge of UK legislation, protected species mitigation, and ecological best practice
-
Confident in stakeholder engagement and technical report delivery
-
Protected species licence(s) or demonstrable progress toward one (e.g. bats, GCN, badger)
-
SSSTS and CSCS certifications advantageous (or willingness to obtain)
