About the Role

Are you passionate about delivering ecological advice that enhances biodiversity and makes a real-world impact? We’re partnering with an environmental consultancy that’s redefining how ecological work is done—blending purpose-driven projects with a vibrant, people-first culture.

This forward-thinking employer places as much value on wellbeing and work-life balance as they do on environmental outcomes. They offer a genuine 4-day working week—with 100% of the pay—giving you time to recharge, explore, and live outside of work, while still advancing your career.

Why This Role?

You’ll join a supportive, multidisciplinary team known for taking a creative, collaborative approach to consultancy. This is a place where innovation is encouraged, honest conversations are welcomed, and community matters. The culture is built on trust, autonomy, and celebrating each other’s wins—at work and beyond.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and supporting a wide range of ecological surveys, including protected species and habitat assessments

  • Writing high-quality technical reports including PEAs, EcIAs, and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments

  • Advising clients on mitigation strategies, ecological opportunities, and constraints

  • Working closely with planning, arboriculture, and landscape teams on integrated project delivery

  • Supporting planning applications and Environmental Impact Assessments

  • Liaising with clients, regulators, and key stakeholders

  • Contributing to fee proposals and project tenders

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field

  • Around 2 years of consultancy experience (or transferable skills from another setting)

  • Solid understanding of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy

  • Experience with habitat classification surveys and biodiversity net gain assessments

  • Comfortable producing reports and advising clients

  • (Bonus) Experience using QGIS for digital outputs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

Perks That Matter

  • 4-day working week – full pay, more balance

  • A culture grounded in authenticity, support, and community

  • Opportunities to grow your career while working on impactful projects

  • Open, inclusive recruitment process—support is available if needed

If you're ready to bring your ecological expertise to a team that genuinely values people, purpose, and the planet, we’d love to hear from you.
