About the Role

About the opportunity

You will join a well-established, independent consultancy known for delivering landscape-led projects of regional and national significance. The practice combines landscape architecture, ecology, and strategic advisory services to support complex, large-scale developments across the UK and Ireland.

The team is built around a director-led model, ensuring that every project benefits from experienced leadership from inception through to delivery. This approach allows for a highly responsive, client-focused service, grounded in long-term relationships and a deep understanding of each client’s objectives.

Working at the intersection of design, ecology, and strategic planning, the consultancy takes a holistic approach, integrating environmental, social, and economic considerations to deliver outcomes that are both practical and enduring.

This role offers a clear pathway into senior leadership, with the opportunity to shape both project delivery and the future direction of the business.

Your role

You will take a leading position across a diverse portfolio of landscape-led work, contributing both strategically and technically. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading landscape-led masterplanning from early concept through to implementation
  • Working within multidisciplinary teams, providing landscape expertise to architects, engineers, and planners
  • Delivering EIA, LVA and LVIA workstreams, aligned with your experience
  • Producing detailed design packages and specifications for delivery-stage projects
  • Overseeing site-based works, acting as a key interface with contractors
  • Providing team leadership, including coordination of people, programmes, and resources
  • Supporting long-term landscape and environmental management planning, where relevant

You will also play a central role in client engagement and business development, building on an established portfolio of trusted relationships while identifying opportunities for sustainable growth.

Team and structure

You will work closely with senior leadership within a compact, highly experienced team supported by CAD, graphics, and administrative specialists, alongside an integrated ecology function.

The practice is intentionally structured to remain agile and delivery-focused, with low overheads and strong technical support enabling senior staff to focus on high-value work and client outcomes.

There is a clear succession pathway associated with this position, with the opportunity to progressively take ownership of an existing project portfolio.

What you bring

You are an experienced landscape architect who is comfortable operating at both strategic and project levels. You bring a collaborative mindset and are motivated by delivering thoughtful, well-resolved environmental outcomes.

You are likely to offer:

  • Chartered status, or working towards it
  • Strong experience across masterplanning, assessment, and detailed design
  • Confidence in leading projects and managing client relationships
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in contributing to business growth
  • A collaborative approach, with an appreciation for integrated landscape and ecological design

Growth and future direction

The consultancy is entering a period of growth, driven by increasing demand for landscape-led, environmentally informed projects. There is potential to expand the team further, including the addition of graduate landscape architects.

Your ability to strengthen client relationships and identify new opportunities will play a key role in shaping this next phase.

Practical considerations

  • Regular travel across the UK and Ireland is required
  • Occasional overnight stays will be necessary
  • Periodic attendance at the Newark office is expected to maintain team connectivity
