About the Role
Ocean to Earth Recruitment is delighted to present an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Senior Hydrogeologist to join a highly respected Contaminated Land & Hydrogeology team. This is a chance to become a key member of a small, innovative, and technically skilled consultancy, delivering diverse projects across the UK.
We’re seeking a confident, proactive, and ambitious individual with proven expertise in hydrogeology, exceptional communication skills, and a track record in technical delivery, commercial management, and project leadership.
This role offers a blend of office and field-based work, with the opportunity to shape business strategy and contribute to service development within your specialism. You’ll also be part of a company with a clear environmental ethos—actively reinvesting profits into water-related community projects through their Development Fund, encouraging all staff to get involved.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage projects in your specialist area, from inception to delivery.

Communicate effectively with both internal teams and external clients.

Deliver high-quality, best-practice technical outputs that meet legislative and industry standards.

Provide hydrogeological expertise to water resources, environmental, contaminated land, built development, industry, and landfill projects.

Develop robust conceptual site models, conduct risk assessments, and interpret large datasets and numerical models.

Utilise analytical modelling tools such as RTM spreadsheet, CLEA spreadsheet, ConSim, or RAM, with experience in MODFLOW or FEFLOW highly desirable.

Stay up to date with technical innovations and industry developments.
Essential Skills & Experience

Strong technical background in hydrogeology with excellent problem-solving abilities.

Experience in project and budget management, client liaison, and delivering quality outcomes.

Practical field skills in drilling techniques, sample collection, aquifer testing, and monitoring.

Ability to mentor junior staff and delegate effectively.

Chartered status with GeolSoc, IES, IEMA, CIWEM, or equivalent.

Degree in a relevant discipline (MSc or postgraduate qualification preferred).

Full UK driving licence.
