About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment is delighted to present an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Senior Hydrogeologist to join a highly respected Contaminated Land & Hydrogeology team. This is a chance to become a key member of a small, innovative, and technically skilled consultancy, delivering diverse projects across the UK.

We’re seeking a confident, proactive, and ambitious individual with proven expertise in hydrogeology, exceptional communication skills, and a track record in technical delivery, commercial management, and project leadership.

This role offers a blend of office and field-based work, with the opportunity to shape business strategy and contribute to service development within your specialism. You’ll also be part of a company with a clear environmental ethos—actively reinvesting profits into water-related community projects through their Development Fund, encouraging all staff to get involved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage projects in your specialist area, from inception to delivery.

  • Communicate effectively with both internal teams and external clients.

  • Deliver high-quality, best-practice technical outputs that meet legislative and industry standards.

  • Provide hydrogeological expertise to water resources, environmental, contaminated land, built development, industry, and landfill projects.

  • Develop robust conceptual site models, conduct risk assessments, and interpret large datasets and numerical models.

  • Utilise analytical modelling tools such as RTM spreadsheet, CLEA spreadsheet, ConSim, or RAM, with experience in MODFLOW or FEFLOW highly desirable.

  • Stay up to date with technical innovations and industry developments.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong technical background in hydrogeology with excellent problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience in project and budget management, client liaison, and delivering quality outcomes.

  • Practical field skills in drilling techniques, sample collection, aquifer testing, and monitoring.

  • Ability to mentor junior staff and delegate effectively.

  • Chartered status with GeolSoc, IES, IEMA, CIWEM, or equivalent.

  • Degree in a relevant discipline (MSc or postgraduate qualification preferred).

  • Full UK driving licence.

What’s on Offer

  • Flexible 37.5-hour working week.

  • TOIL/overtime arrangements to support work-life balance.

  • Company pension (4% contribution).

  • Health & wellbeing bonus (£35/month for an activity of your choice).

  • Profit share scheme—dividing profits between staff bonuses, community projects, and business growth.

  • Supportive, people-focused culture with strong emphasis on professional development.

If you’re passionate about using your skills to make a real environmental impact while advancing your career in a supportive and forward-thinking organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
