About the Role

At Ocean to Earth Recruitment, our vision is to elevate green growth by connecting talented environmental professionals with organisations shaping a more sustainable future. We are proud to be partnering with a small, ambitious planning and environmental consultancy in Worcester that is expanding its ecological capability and seeking an experienced Ecologist who is ready for greater ownership, influence and progression.

This role is ideal for someone who wants more responsibility—not just in delivering surveys, but in leading projects, shaping strategy, and ultimately building and managing a team as the business continues to grow.

The Role

As Ecologist/Senior Ecologist, you will:

  • Lead ecological projects from fee proposal through to completion, including client liaison, survey design, fieldwork oversight, and report production.

  • Deliver and coordinate habitat surveys, protected species assessments, mitigation strategies and biodiversity net-gain work.

  • Work closely with planning specialists to deliver integrated environmental and planning advice.

  • Play a key part in the future development of the ecology function, with genuine scope to establish and lead your own team over time.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in ecological consultancy (minimum 3 years).

  • Technically competent across a range of ecological surveys and reporting, ideally with protected species licensing experience.

  • Skilled in producing high-quality written outputs and communicating confidently with clients and stakeholders.

  • Organised, proactive and comfortable managing workload, budgets and deadlines independently.

  • Motivated by the opportunity to grow something and make a visible impact.

What’s on Offer

  • A platform to take ownership of projects and shape the development of the ecological discipline.

  • A supportive culture that values autonomy, collaboration and innovation.

  • Clear progression towards leadership and team development.

  • A competitive salary package and flexible working approach.

Apply

If you’re ready to take the next step in your ecological career and want to be part of a consultancy on an exciting growth journey, we’d love to hear from you.
