About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment is excited to be working with a well-established and supportive environmental consultancy as they expand their ecology team in Sheffield.

In this role, you’ll lead ecological surveys, assessments, and mitigation strategies, working closely with colleagues across ecology, landscape architecture, and environmental planning.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and supporting ecological surveys, including protected species surveys, habitat assessments, and biodiversity audits

  • Preparing ecological reports and contributing to Environmental Impact Assessments

  • Helping design and deliver mitigation solutions that protect and enhance habitats

  • Providing clear ecological advice to clients and project teams

  • Building strong, positive relationships with clients, contractors, and regulators

Who We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field

  • At least 1 year of ecological consultancy experience, including surveys, assessments, and report writing

  • Good understanding of UK ecological legislation and best practice

  • Friendly communicator who enjoys working collaboratively

  • Experience with Biodiversity Net Gain and DEFRA Statutory Biodiversity Metric is a plus

  • Any ecological specialism or protected species licence is welcome

  • Membership (or eligibility) of a professional body, such as CIEEM

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
