You’ll play a leading role in delivering ecological surveys, assessments, and mitigation strategies, collaborating with a talented team of ecologists, landscape architects, and environmental planners.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and conducting ecological surveys, including protected species surveys, habitat assessments, and biodiversity audits

  • Preparing ecological reports and contributing to Environmental Impact Assessments (EcIAs, EIAs) and Habitat Regulations Assessments (HRAs)

  • Designing and implementing mitigation measures to protect and enhance habitats

  • Providing expert ecological advice to clients, stakeholders, and project teams

  • Building strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulators

Who We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field

  • 3+ years of ecological consultancy experience, including surveys, reporting, and project management

  • Strong knowledge of UK ecology legislation, guidance, and best practice

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders

  • Experience with Biodiversity Net Gain, DEFRA Statutory Biodiversity Metric, and related reporting

  • Protected species licences and experience with a wide range of species surveys

  • Membership or eligibility of a professional body (e.g., CIEEM)

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Why You’ll Love Working Here

This consultancy isn’t just about projects — it’s about people. As an employee-owned company, everyone has a voice, and feedback genuinely shapes how the business operates. The ecology team is collaborative, supportive, and led by directors who started in junior roles themselves.

With opportunities to develop your specialisms, lead projects, and work across a wide range of clients and habitats, this is an ideal role for someone looking to grow and make a real impact.
