About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment is delighted to be working with a respected ecological consultancy to recruit an experienced Ecologist to join their established team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Ecologist who enjoys both hands-on ecological survey work and project management, and who is looking to take their career to the next level.


🔎 The Role

As an Ecologist, you’ll be contributing to a wide variety of projects across the UK, supporting developments ranging from small housing schemes through to large-scale infrastructure and public sector work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Project management – overseeing a range of ecological projects, ensuring they are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget.

  • Ecological surveys – undertaking and leading surveys across a variety of species and habitats, with a focus on collecting accurate and high-quality data.

  • Reporting and advice – preparing professional reports and providing clear advice and recommendations to clients.

  • Client and stakeholder liaison – working closely with architects, developers, local authorities, planners, and construction professionals.

  • Team support – assisting senior ecologists on larger and more complex projects, while developing your own technical and managerial expertise.

We’d love to hear from Ecologists who bring:

  • Project management experience – with the confidence to run multiple projects and liaise directly with clients.

  • Survey experience – across a variety of species and habitats, with strong technical knowledge.

  • Excellent communication skills – able to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

  • Ambition and drive – a proactive approach with a desire to develop and progress your career.
