About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a well-established, multidisciplinary environmental consultancy to appoint a Consultant or Senior Ecology Project Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious ecology professional ready to take the next step in their career within a highly respected and forward-thinking organisation.

The Company

Our client is a leading UK environmental consultancy with over 25 years of experience supporting sustainable development. With a team of more than 150 specialists across five offices nationwide, they provide expert advice across ecology, planning, landscape, heritage and environmental disciplines.

Their projects span residential, infrastructure, regeneration, commercial and conservation sectors — delivering real impact through biodiversity enhancement, green infrastructure, and strategic environmental planning.

They are known for their supportive culture, strong professional values, and commitment to developing their people.

The Role

As Consultant / Senior Ecology Project Manager, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of ecology projects across the UK. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality outcomes while managing programmes, budgets, resources and client relationships.

This role is ideal for someone with around 3–4 years’ experience in ecological consultancy or a related environmental discipline who is looking to broaden their project management exposure and step into greater responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing ecology projects from inception through to delivery

  • Coordinating field teams and specialist inputs

  • Overseeing budgets, timelines and resource planning

  • Supporting clients through ecological aspects of the planning process

  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary design and environmental teams

  • Contributing to fee proposals and supporting junior colleagues

You will gain exposure to projects including Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), habitat restoration, green infrastructure and strategic development schemes.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Degree qualified in ecology or a related field

  • Experienced in delivering ecological or environmental projects

  • Commercially aware with strong project coordination skills

  • Confident engaging with clients and stakeholders

  • Organised, proactive and solutions-focused

  • Comfortable working independently and within a team

  • In possession of a full UK driving licence

A formal Project Management qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.

Why Apply?

  • Join a highly respected environmental consultancy

  • Be part of a collaborative team of 40+ in-house ecologists

  • Work on diverse, meaningful projects nationwide

  • Clear progression opportunities

  • Strong emphasis on CPD and professional development

  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements

If you’re passionate about delivering sustainable outcomes and ready to take the next step in your ecology career, we’d love to hear from you.
