About the Role
Ocean to Earth Recruitment is working with an established environmental consultancy to recruit a Team Leader to lead and develop its Northern regional team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced consultancy professional who enjoys developing people, building strong client relationships and taking responsibility for the performance and growth of a team.

The role
As Team Leader, you will take responsibility for the leadership, development and performance of the Northern team, working closely with senior management to support the wider growth and development of the consultancy.
This is a varied leadership position combining people management, commercial responsibility, project oversight, client relationships and business development.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, supporting and developing colleagues across the Northern regional team
- Managing and motivating a geographically dispersed and hybrid-working team
- Resource planning and allocation across projects
- Supporting individual professional and career development
- Overseeing client and project management
- Developing and delivering team budgets
- Maintaining high standards of quality assurance
- Supporting business development activities
- Helping to grow the regional portfolio of projects and clients
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Supporting projects from bid stage through to successful delivery
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Working closely with the senior management team to support the consultancy's longer-term growth plans
About you
A background in ecology would be desirable, but it is not essential.
More important is your ability to successfully manage, motivate and grow a consultancy team. You will be comfortable leading colleagues who work across different locations and creating an environment where people feel supported, connected and able to develop.
You are likely to bring:
- Strong people management and team leadership experience
- Experience within a client-focused consultancy environment
- Experience of developing and delivering projects from bid stage onwards
- Good commercial awareness, including budgets and resource management
- Client and stakeholder management experience
- An understanding of business development and consultancy growth
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good report writing skills
- A proactive approach to identifying and solving problems
- The confidence to make decisions and work collaboratively with senior colleagues

Benefits
- Salary of approximately £45,000 to £52,000 depending on experience
- 7% employer pension contribution
