About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment is delighted to be representing a leading sustainability consultancy with a passion for the built environment.

This consultancy believes that buildings play a vital role in supporting the people who inhabit them and in safeguarding our shared future. Their mission is to inspire and support businesses and organisations with the strategies, insights, and actions that make them more meaningful — for their customers, their communities, and the planet.

Working across a diverse range of sectors,  from commercial property development, retail and leisure, and the public sector, to education, healthcare, and residential, they partner with clients who share their values and commitment to positive environmental change.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sustainability Consultant (LCA) to join a growing team in Manchester.

You’ll contribute to some of the UK’s most forward-thinking and sustainable projects,  including commercial, mixed-use, and residential developments helping to deliver genuine carbon reductions in the built environment.

The Role

As a Sustainability Consultant (LCA), you’ll take ownership of Whole Life Carbon Assessments (WLCAs) and provide technical expertise to help clients meet ambitious sustainability goals.

You’ll work closely with design teams and clients, using tools such as OneClick LCA, contributing to the development of innovative carbon management systems, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Whole Life Carbon Assessments (WLCAs) across UK construction projects.

  • Use OneClick LCA, bills of materials, and design information to assess embodied carbon.

  • Analyse and interpret complex datasets to quantify environmental impacts and prepare clear, insightful reports.

  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to clients and stakeholders.

  • Manage projects from start to finish, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and deadlines.

  • Verify building LCA studies and contribute to the development of carbon management tools and platforms.

  • Support wider sustainability work, including BREEAM Assessments and strategic environmental consulting.

About You

We’re looking for an individual with both technical expertise and a genuine passion for sustainability in the built environment.

Essential Requirements:

  • A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. sustainability, environmental science, engineering, or architecture).

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience conducting LCAs in the construction or property sectors.

  • Strong understanding of RICS WLCA, UK NZCBS, ISO 14044, and/or ISO 14067 standards.

  • Experience using OneClick LCA and EPD databases.

  • Skilled in data analysis and visualisation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Awareness of key sustainability topics such as circular economy, low-impact materials, energy efficiency, health & wellbeing, and post-occupancy evaluation.

Desirable:

  • Accreditation with RICS, BREEAM, or CIBSE.

  • Strong initiative and the ability to work independently and proactively.

  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach.

Why Apply?

This consultancy offers a collaborative and forward-thinking environment where innovation, integrity, and excellence drive everything they do. You’ll work on high-profile projects with measurable impact, gain exposure to industry-leading sustainability practices, and be supported in your professional growth and development.
