About the Role

At Ocean to Earth Recruitment, we partner with forward-thinking, values-driven environmental consultancies that are reshaping how the built and natural environments can thrive together. Right now, we’re working with a standout practice that’s offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Landscape Architect to join their team and make a genuine impact — all while working just 4 days a week, with 100% of the pay.

Why This Role is Different

This is not your typical consultancy. Innovation, courage, and connection drive everything they do. You won’t just be another cog in the machine — you’ll be part of a team where your voice is heard, your ideas are welcomed, and your well-being is a top priority.

They operate on a 4-day working week model, meaning you get 80% of the hours for 100% of the salary, giving you more time to recharge, explore, and live well outside of work. It's a culture built around mutual support, bold thinking, and making a positive difference — for the planet, people, and places.

The Role

As a Landscape Planner, you'll play a pivotal role in responding to today’s biodiversity and climate emergencies. This is your chance to be part of shaping truly sustainable developments across both urban and rural landscapes.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Leading and contributing to planning applications with high-quality landscape input.

  • Delivering LVA, LVIA, EIAs, and feasibility assessments.

  • Advising clients on constraints, opportunities, and mitigation strategies.

  • Collaborating across in-house teams including ecology, arboriculture, and GBI.

  • Building trusted relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities.

  • Having the opportunity to mentor junior team members and develop your career.

What You’ll Need

  • A degree in a relevant subject.

  • 4+ years’ experience in landscape planning.

  • Ideally Chartered (CMLI) or on the Pathway to Chartership.

  • Strong communication, report writing, and project management skills.

  • Proficiency in LVIAs, LVAs, and EIA processes.

  • A solid understanding of UK planning frameworks.

  • A full UK driving licence for site visits.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience mentoring or line managing team members.

  • A knack for business development and winning new work.

  • Exposure to public inquiry or appeals processes.

Why You'll Love It Here

  • 4-day working week – full-time pay.

  • A fun, collaborative and inclusive team culture.

  • Commitment to learning, growth and career progression.

  • A workplace where wellbeing isn’t just a buzzword — it’s built into the way they work.
