We’re excited to represent a leading planning and environmental consultancy in their search for a Senior Hydrologist to join their growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled hydrologist to deliver impactful water management solutions across residential, infrastructure, and renewable energy projects.

The Role

As a Senior Hydrologist, you’ll bring technical expertise and leadership to complex hydrological assessments, shaping sustainable outcomes for communities and the environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and delivering Flood Risk Assessments, SuDS schemes, and hydrological studies.

  • Conducting hydraulic modelling and producing high-quality reports.

  • Collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams on diverse projects.

  • Organising and conducting site visits, client meetings, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Delivering hydrology reports that meet legislative, technical, and client requirements.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced professional with strong technical capability and a passion for sustainable solutions.

  • Relevant hydrology qualification, chartered or working towards chartership (preferably ICE).

  • Proven experience with Flood Risk Assessments, Surface Water Management Plans, and hydraulic modelling (Flood Modeller Pro, HEC-RAS, or similar).

  • Strong knowledge of UK hydrology and environmental legislation.

  • Skilled in GIS and associated software packages.

  • Full driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Master’s degree in hydrology or related discipline.

  • Experience in peat stability assessments and EIA chapters.

  • Tendering/bid preparation experience.
