About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment is supporting a well-established and highly regarded environmental consultancy in the search for a Principal Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Consultant. This is a senior opportunity for someone who wants to shape complex projects and ensure environmental considerations are fully embedded in development from the outset.

The opportunity

You will play a central role in delivering Environmental Impact Assessments for large-scale infrastructure and development projects across sectors such as transport, renewable energy and property.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will coordinate environmental inputs throughout the project lifecycle, from early-stage strategy and feasibility through to detailed design and consent. This is a role that combines technical leadership with client engagement, offering both responsibility and variety.

What you will be doing

  • Leading and managing complex, multidisciplinary EIA projects
  • Coordinating environmental inputs across design, assessment and delivery stages
  • Preparing and reviewing screening, scoping and Environmental Statement documentation
  • Working closely with technical specialists to integrate environmental solutions into design
  • Engaging with clients, stakeholders and regulatory bodies
  • Supporting project planning, budgeting and programme delivery
  • Contributing to bid preparation and business development activities
  • Providing guidance and oversight to junior team members

About you

You bring a strong foundation in EIA and a clear ability to lead projects with confidence and precision. You are comfortable working across disciplines and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.

Your experience is likely to include:

  • A relevant degree in environmental science, EIA or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of UK EIA processes and legislation
  • Proven experience delivering and leading complex EIA projects
  • Broad awareness of environmental topics within development contexts
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • Strong organisational and project management capability
  • Experience managing budgets and project delivery
  • Confidence supporting or mentoring junior colleagues
  • Exposure to bid preparation or business development

Why consider this role

This is an opportunity to join a consultancy known for its technical quality, collaborative culture and long-term client relationships. You will work on meaningful projects that contribute to sustainable development, within a team that values thoughtful, well-informed environmental input.

The role offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, alongside flexible working arrangements and a supportive working environment.
