About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a well-established, independent expert planning consultancy to appoint a Senior Associate Planner for their Hertfordshire office.

This is a pivotal leadership role within the business and represents a genuine opportunity for the right individual to lead, shape and grow an established regional planning team. The consultancy has a strong reputation for delivering clear, commercially astute planning advice and is trusted by both local authorities and industry professionals.

The Opportunity

This role is specifically suited to someone who already operates at a senior level or is ready to take the next step into a leadership position. Beyond technical planning excellence, the successful candidate will bring the commitment, focus and personal presence required to lead a team and drive the continued growth of the Hertfordshire business.

You will be responsible for setting direction, managing client relationships, developing new work and mentoring the next generation of planners — playing a key role in the long-term future of the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing the Hertfordshire planning team

  • Managing a portfolio of complex and high-value planning projects

  • Driving business development and strengthening client relationships

  • Providing strategic planning advice across a range of sectors

  • Mentoring and supporting junior and mid-level planners

  • Representing clients at committee meetings, hearings and appeals

About You

  • Chartered Planner / RTPI Member

  • Proven senior-level planning consultancy experience, or ready to step up

  • Strong commercial awareness and business development capability

  • Confident leader with the personality and credibility to inspire a team

  • Committed, focused and motivated to grow a regional business

  • Full UK driving licence
