About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment is excited to be working with a well-established natural environment consultancy seeking Senior Arboricultural Consultants to support their growth across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful environmental work and help clients protect, restore, and enhance biodiversity in a rapidly evolving sector.

The Role

As a Senior Arboricultural Consultant, you'll work at the forefront of arboricultural practice—blending client and project management responsibilities with on-the-ground consultancy. You’ll be helping deliver practical, innovative solutions for a range of clients including local authorities, charities, utilities, and private landowners.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting BS5837, utility, and tree safety surveys using advanced GIS mapping tools.

  • Producing high-quality technical reports to support planning applications and infrastructure projects.

  • Leading on-site arboricultural supervision (Clerk of Works), audits, and protection measures.

  • Offering expert advice on tree-related issues and contributing to the scoping and costing of new projects.

You’ll be supported by experienced peers and a comprehensive training programme to help you transition into the role with confidence.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking individuals who combine technical expertise with a client-first mindset and a passion for the natural environment.

Essential:

  • A minimum NQF Level 4 qualification in Arboriculture, plus practical experience.

  • Confidence in client communication and professional report writing.

  • Strong adaptability, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with new technology.

  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • NQF Level 5 or 6 in Arboriculture or related discipline.

  • Lantra PTI Certificate.

  • Training in a recognised tree risk assessment method (e.g. VALID, QTRA, TRAQ).

  • CSCS card.

  • Membership of the Arboricultural Association or Institute of Chartered Foresters (subscription covered upon appointment).

Why Join?

This consultancy offers more than just a job—it offers a mission. With a 30+ year track record, they work across the UK helping organisations deliver environmentally responsible projects and build a legacy of ecological resilience.

You’ll benefit from:

  • 24 days annual leave (rising to 35 with seniority)

  • Flexible and remote working options

  • Paid overtime and TOIL (Time Off in Lieu) for extended leave

  • Annual performance bonus

  • Employee assistance programme

  • Investment in your professional development and training

  • A values-driven workplace where inclusion and sustainability come first

And in a unique initiative, profits are reinvested directly into UK wildlife conservation via partnerships with local Wildlife Trusts—supporting the protection and recovery of nature.
