Senior Arboricultural Consultant
Meet Our Recruiter
About the Role
Ocean to Earth Recruitment is working with an established multidisciplinary environmental consultancy looking for a Senior Arboricultural Consultant to join its team in Gateshead.
This is a good opportunity for an experienced arboricultural professional who wants to take ownership of projects while still remaining involved in technical work. You will work alongside colleagues across ecology, landscape, planning and other environmental disciplines, supporting a varied portfolio of projects.
The role
You will lead arboricultural projects from initial survey and assessment through to reporting, recommendations and delivery. Alongside your technical work, you will manage programmes, budgets and resources, liaise directly with clients and help maintain a high standard of project delivery.
Your work will include:
• Arboricultural surveys, assessments and reporting
• Tree constraints, impact and mitigation work
• Managing projects, programmes, budgets and resources
• Providing practical arboricultural advice to clients and project teams
• Producing reports and supporting plans, using CAD and GIS where required
• Working closely with ecology, landscape and planning colleagues
• Supporting fee proposals and bids
• Reviewing work and supporting the development of less experienced colleagues
About you
You will have a degree or equivalent qualification in Arboriculture, Forestry or a related subject, together with good consultancy experience.
You should have strong knowledge of tree identification, physiology, inspection and assessment, alongside a good understanding of relevant UK legislation, arboricultural standards and best practice.
Experience managing projects and producing high-quality technical reports is important, as is the confidence to work directly with clients and other technical specialists.
Professional membership of the Arboricultural Association and/or Institute of Chartered Foresters, or progress towards membership, would be welcomed.
A full UK driving licence is required as the position will involve travel to sites.
Why consider it?
You will be joining a well-established environmental consultancy where arboriculture forms part of a wider multidisciplinary service. There is scope to work collaboratively across ecology, landscape and planning, develop your technical and project management experience, and contribute to the continued development of the arboricultural service.
The company also offers a wider benefits package, hybrid working and flexibility around working arrangements.
