This is a fantastic opportunity for someone currently working at Principal Consultant level—or looking to grow into a Technical Director role—to lead and develop a well-established landscape planning service within a forward-thinking, multidisciplinary team.

🌍 About the Organisation

With a long-standing presence across the UK and Europe, our client brings over 30 years of environmental consultancy expertise, spanning policy, design, strategy, and technical assessment. Their group comprises specialist teams across air quality, noise, landscape, and environmental impact assessment, supporting high-profile clients and securing repeat business through the consistent delivery of high-quality work.

Recognised as a top-tier environmental and sustainability consultancy, they are known for combining innovation with a commitment to quality and sustainability. Their company values—Community, Collaboration, and Integrity—shape a culture that is supportive, inclusive, and impact-driven.

🏞️ The Role

As a Landscape Planner (LVIA Specialist), you’ll play a lead role in delivering Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs) across a diverse range of development projects, including solar farms, wind energy, and low-carbon infrastructure.

You will collaborate closely with environmental impact assessment (EIA) professionals, landscape designers, and other technical specialists. In addition to technical delivery, you'll be responsible for developing client relationships, managing project teams, and contributing to business growth.

This is a key leadership opportunity for someone who is passionate about landscape planning and ready to shape a growing team within a mission-led consultancy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and author LVIAs for both EIA and non-EIA development

  • Manage multi-disciplinary project teams and project delivery

  • Act as a key client contact, fostering strong relationships

  • Contribute to business development and service expansion

  • Promote sustainable and innovative approaches to landscape planning

👤 What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a technically skilled, commercially aware, and collaborative professional with a deep understanding of landscape planning and visual assessment.

Essential Experience & Attributes:

  • Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) or working towards this via the P2C route

  • Proven experience delivering LVIAs independently or as part of a team

  • Thorough knowledge of GLVIA 3 and related technical guidance

  • Understanding of the UK planning system and policy context

  • Confident in fieldwork, site photography, and data collection

  • Strong communication skills—written, visual and verbal

  • Proficiency in relevant software: Autodesk, GIS, Adobe Creative Suite

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Degree in Landscape Architecture or equivalent

🌟 What’s on Offer

You’ll be joining a business that values innovation, collaboration and personal growth. This role provides the platform to shape a team, influence strategic direction, and deliver meaningful, sustainability-driven projects.

Benefits include:

  • Competitive salary based on experience

  • Flexible and hybrid working options (full- or part-time considered)

  • Enhanced pension contributions

  • Private medical insurance

  • Annual leave that increases with service + purchase scheme

  • Travel season ticket loans, cycle-to-work scheme

  • CPD and structured training opportunities

  • Employee wellbeing support including mental health first aiders and EAP access

  • A friendly and values-led culture committed to environmental and social value
