Landscape Architect

Ocean to Earth Recruitment is working with a growing, multidisciplinary environmental, planning and design consultancy to recruit a Landscape Architect for its teams in Birmingham, York or Cambridge.

This is a great opportunity to join an established landscape team working on a varied portfolio of projects across renewable energy, infrastructure, residential development, historic sites, urban regeneration and environmental enhancement.

The consultancy is supporting the delivery of some of the largest solar and battery storage schemes in the UK and Europe, alongside a strong pipeline of energy, residential and infrastructure projects.

You will work within a genuinely multidisciplinary environment alongside specialists in Landscape Architecture, Planning, EIA, Ecology, GIS, Architecture, Arboriculture, Sustainability, Engineering, Water and Flood Risk.

The role

As a Landscape Architect, you will contribute to projects across the design, planning and implementation stages, working closely with experienced senior colleagues and wider multidisciplinary teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing landscape designs, plans, technical drawings and visualisations

• Producing drawings using AutoCAD or similar CAD software

• Contributing to reports, presentations and planning documentation

• Supporting Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment work

• Contributing ideas to design discussions and project development

• Undertaking site visits, surveys, site analysis and research

• Working collaboratively with environmental, planning and design specialists

• Supporting project coordination and delivery against agreed programmes and budgets

• Supporting junior colleagues where appropriate

• Attending client meetings, workshops and project discussions

About you

We are looking for someone with a good grounding in landscape architecture who is ready to develop their experience across a varied and interesting project portfolio.

Ideally, you will have:

• Experience or knowledge of landscape design and construction techniques

• An understanding of LVIA and the UK planning system

• AutoCAD or similar CAD experience

• Keyscape or similar planting software experience

• Adobe Creative Suite skills

• Strong design, graphic and presentation abilities

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organisation and attention to detail

• The ability to work independently and collaboratively

• A full UK driving licence

A Landscape Institute accredited postgraduate qualification and enrolment, or an intention to enrol, on the Landscape Institute Pathway to Chartership would be advantageous.

Experience of project management, budgets, programme management or financial control would also be welcomed.
