About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment are working on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded environmental and arboricultural consultancy delivering specialist arboriculture surveys and ecological services across the Midlands and eastern England.

Due to a strong pipeline of projects, we are seeking Ecologists, Climbing Arborists, and Arborists looking to transition into ecological consultancy to join the team, with opportunities for immediate starts, fixed-term contracts, or flexible working arrangements.

If you enjoy practical fieldwork, tree climbing, protected species surveys, and varied outdoor projects, this could be an excellent fit.

The Role

You’ll support a range of arboricultural and ecological survey work including:

  • Tree climbing inspections using rope access

  • Arboricultural condition and safety surveys

  • Bat roost assessments and protected species surveys

  • Field data collection and reporting

  • Supporting planning and development-led ecology projects

Work is predominantly based across the West & East Midlands, extending to the Lincolnshire Coast, with travel between sites.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • CS38 / Tree Climbing & Aerial Rescue (essential for climbers)

  • Rope access experience

  • Bat survey experience or bat licence (highly desirable)

  • Arboricultural or ecological survey background

  • Relevant degree or practical experience in ecology, arboriculture or countryside management

  • A proactive, outdoors-focused attitude and willingness to work across varied terrain

Climbing arborists keen to move into ecology are very welcome — training and support can be provided.

What’s on offer

  • Competitive day rates / salary (DOE)

  • Immediate start options

  • Fixed-term or flexible contracts available

  • Varied, interesting project work

  • Supportive and knowledgeable consultancy environment

  • Opportunity to broaden skills across arboriculture and ecology
