About the Role
This opportunity is ideal for an Assistant Ecologist or recent graduate with at least one to two survey seasons’ experience who is ready to take the next step into an Ecologist position.
You’ll gain hands-on experience delivering ecological surveys, supporting project delivery, and contributing to technical reports across a wide variety of projects. Regular travel and occasional overnight stays are a key part of this role, especially during peak survey season.
What We’re Looking For

A degree in ecology or a closely related subject

Some practical field survey experience (consultancy experience desirable)

An understanding of UK ecology, legislation, and survey best practice

Strong written and verbal communication skills

A proactive, positive attitude and eagerness to develop

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

Membership (or working towards membership) of Chartered Institute of Ecological and Environmental Management (CIEEM)

Right to work in the UK
Desirable

Experience with protected species surveys

Protected species licences (e.g. bats, GCN, dormouse)
