About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment is seeking a Senior Engineer with a strong design background to join a dynamic and growing design studio. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled engineer to deliver high-quality design outputs and make a tangible impact on sustainable, climate-conscious projects.

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive, solutions-focused engineer who can produce design calculations, detailed drawings, and technical specifications for civil engineering projects. You will work on a variety of projects across residential, education, and visitor destination sectors, contributing to innovative, sustainable, and nature-led design solutions.

About You

  • Practical civil engineering experience on small to medium-sized building projects.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Technical Delivery

  • Produce technical design information, including calculations, drawings, and specifications, for cut and fill, pavement design, and sustainable drainage systems from feasibility through to construction.

  • Engage with strategic partners such as the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, Water Authorities, SAB/LLFA, and Local Highways Authorities.

  • Collaborate with internal and external design teams, clients, and technical specialists to ensure high-quality outputs.

  • Manage budgets, programmes, and engineering deliverables across multiple projects.

Studio Contribution

  • Support mentoring and knowledge-sharing within the team.

  • Promote best practice in design, software use, and technical innovation.

  • Contribute to the delivery of high-quality service and sustainable design across projects.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, with a minimum of 3 years’ practical experience.

  • Experience producing technical calculations and detailed drawing information.

  • Proficient in design software, including Causeway Flow, PDS, and AutoCAD.

  • Understanding of relevant legislation and procedures within civil engineering.

  • Experience managing multiple projects and delivering on time and within budget.

  • Working towards, or holding, a professional qualification is desirable.
