Chartered Landscape Architect
Scotland | Hybrid | Permanent | Full Time
An excellent opportunity for a Chartered Landscape Architect to take on a senior role within a growing multidisciplinary environmental and design consultancy, combining technical landscape expertise with project leadership, client development and the opportunity to help shape a growing landscape service.
The Opportunity

This is a broad role for someone who enjoys combining landscape planning and LVIA with design, client relationships and team development. You will work across a varied portfolio of projects, collaborating with environmental consultants, planners, engineers and other technical specialists.
The position offers genuine scope to influence the direction and growth of the landscape service, while continuing to develop your own technical and commercial career.
The Role
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality landscape projects while supporting the continued development of the landscape and visual assessment offering.
Your responsibilities will include:
-
Leading and delivering Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments, including LVIA to EIA standard
-
Providing technical input across landscape planning, landscape design and multidisciplinary environmental projects
-
Supporting the development and growth of landscape and graphics services
-
Building strong client relationships and contributing to new business opportunities
-
Supporting bids, proposals and wider business development activity
-
Contributing to landscape design, specifications and technical outputs
-
Supporting and mentoring colleagues as the team continues to grow
-
Maintaining high standards of technical quality, compliance and best practice
-
Acting as a trusted point of contact for clients, project teams and stakeholders
-
Contributing to public consultation and stakeholder engagement
About You
The team is ideally looking for a Chartered Landscape Architect with a strong combination of landscape planning, LVIA and project delivery experience.
You will ideally have:
-
A minimum of five years' relevant professional experience
-
Chartered Landscape Architect status, CMLI
-
Practical experience delivering LVIA to EIA standard
-
Experience working on tall infrastructure projects
-
A strong understanding of UK planning and regulatory frameworks
-
Experience in landscape design and specification
-
Knowledge of, or proficiency in, AutoCAD, GIS and relevant rendering or visualisation packages
-

-
Strong communication, report-writing and client-facing skills
Expert witness experience would be particularly valuable, although candidates with a genuine interest in developing this area of expertise are also encouraged to apply.
The Company
You will be joining a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy bringing together professionals across landscape, planning, environmental consultancy, engineering and related technical disciplines.
The business has experienced significant growth and offers the resources and project variety of a larger consultancy while retaining a collaborative, people-focused working environment.
For someone who wants to combine technical delivery with greater responsibility, client exposure and involvement in the future development of a landscape team, this could offer a strong long-term career move.

The role is based in Scotland and offers a hybrid working pattern.
Some travel across the UK may be required depending on project needs, with occasional overnight stays and potential overseas travel. A full driving licence would therefore be beneficial.
Applicants must have the legal right to live and work in the UK.
