About the Role

The Role

An exciting opportunity for an experienced hydrogeologist to step into a senior leadership role within a growing hydrogeology and flood risk team.

You will lead a small team of specialists, oversee the day-to-day running of the business unit, and ensure the successful delivery of complex groundwater, water resources, and flood risk projects. This role combines technical leadership, project oversight, and commercial responsibility, with scope to shape team development and contribute to wider business growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of hydrogeologists and flood risk consultants
  • Oversee project delivery, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard
  • Act as technical lead and reviewer across a range of hydrogeological and flood risk projects
  • Manage project budgets, programmes, and resource allocation
  • Lead fee proposals and support business development activities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, and stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and team performance

About You

  • Degree in Geology or a related discipline (MSc in Hydrogeology or similar preferred)
  • Strong experience in hydrogeology, groundwater, or water resources
  • Proven leadership or team management experience
  • Solid understanding of UK regulatory frameworks and industry guidance
  • Demonstrated project management and commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
