The Role

Our client is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and experienced Associate Director to direct, deliver, and manage projects while contributing to business growth and success.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), a proven ability to build sustainable client relationships, and a track record of achieving revenue growth through business development.

This role involves close collaboration with internal teams (including Acoustics, Air Quality, Digital Delivery, Ecology, Planning, Socio-Economics, and Construction Environmental Management) and external partners to deliver a variety of projects.

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess expert knowledge of EIA, including guidelines and the planning process.
  • Have a proven ability to manage and lead multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Exhibit excellent project management, report writing, and client liaison skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude towards business development and bid writing for projects of all scales.

Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as project director, project manager, framework manager, or technical lead.
  • Leading or contributing to bids for new projects.
  • Assisting in the training and mentoring of junior team members.

The Candidate

To apply, you should demonstrate the following:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Chartered professional status (or working towards this).
  • Strong knowledge of the environmental and sustainability market, with expertise in the property sector.
  • Significant experience managing the EIA process and producing Environmental Statements for property development and urban regeneration projects.
  • Demonstrable success in business development, bid writing, and income generation.
  • An active network of contacts in the property sector.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and client-facing skills.
  • Project management experience or relevant qualifications (e.g., APM, Prince 2).
  • Expertise in one or more EIA disciplines, planning, or sustainability.
  • A positive, detail-oriented approach with creativity in problem-solving.
