About the Role

We’re currently supporting a well-established and fast-growing environmental consultancy in their search for a talented Arboricultural Surveyor to join their expanding team in the South East.

The Role

As an Arboricultural Surveyor, you’ll contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from private residential work through to large-scale infrastructure and national developments.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking tree surveys, inspections and reporting

  • Tree hazard and condition assessments using Visual Tree Assessment (VTA)

  • Development surveys in line with BS5837

  • Producing clear, high-quality technical reports

  • Providing advice directly to clients and stakeholders

  • Working collaboratively with environmental specialists across disciplines

This role offers genuine variety, autonomy and the opportunity to develop your technical skills while working on meaningful, real-world environmental projects.

The position is primarily field-based across the South East and will involve regular travel to sites and occasional overnight stays.


About You

We’re keen to speak with candidates who combine strong technical knowledge with a practical, team-oriented mindset.

You will ideally have:

  • Membership of the Arboricultural Association or similar professional body

  • Relevant tree survey experience within a consultancy or commercial environment

  • Experience undertaking VTA and BS5837 surveys

  • Familiarity with arboricultural tools/software such as THREATS, CAVAT, TEMPO, RAVEN or iTree (desirable)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency with MS Office and GIS/CAD or tree survey software

  • A collaborative and proactive approach

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use
