About the Role

About the Opportunity

At Ocean to Earth Recruitment, our mission is to elevate green growth and champion a sustainable future. We proudly partner with organisations that share our commitment to people, planet, and purpose — and this opportunity is a perfect example.

We’re supporting a forward-thinking environmental consultancy that’s redefining what it means to work in arboriculture. They value innovation over convention, teamwork over hierarchy, and impact over ego. Their culture celebrates creativity, collaboration, and care — for colleagues, clients, and the wider community.

This organisation also offers a 4-day working week with full-time pay — giving you the space to bring your best self to work and to life.

The Role

As an Arboricultural Consultant, you’ll play a key role in supporting sustainable development and helping clients make informed, environmentally conscious decisions about trees and landscapes.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Providing expert advice on trees in relation to planning and development

  • Advising on all aspects of BS5837 consultancy and arboricultural planning

  • Working across sectors including residential, commercial, renewables, and infrastructure

  • Preparing and presenting Arboricultural Impact Assessments, Method Statements, TPO applications, and related planning documents

  • Collaborating closely with project teams to ensure tree and habitat considerations are integrated from concept to completion

  • Leading site work and data analysis with support from an experienced, passionate team

Knowledge of AutoCAD and a solid understanding of UK planning policy related to trees will be a real advantage.

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from professionals who:

  • Have experience in BS5837 consultancy and related arboricultural planning work

  • Hold a qualification in arboriculture or a related environmental discipline

  • Are technical members (or higher) of the Arboricultural Association

  • Enjoy the technical and planning side of arboriculture

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with clients and partners

  • Are proactive, positive, and solution-focused

  • Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing

  • Are well-organised and manage workloads effectively

  • Share values of care, honesty, and collaboration

Why This Role Matters

This is more than just a consultancy role — it’s a chance to be part of a team that’s actively shaping a greener, more resilient future. You’ll work alongside experts who are passionate about making a measurable difference for people, nature, and the environment.

Working Model

Hybrid working with an expectation of two days per week in the office (which can include on-site days). Offices are based in Bristol and Manchester.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Our partner is committed to creating an environment where everyone feels they belong. They celebrate diversity and actively promote equity and inclusion across their team and communities.
