About Profile

Highly experienced botanical specialist with expertise in UKHab, NVC, habitat classification, vascular plants, aquatic plants and bryophytes. Seeking to transition from academia into environmental consultancy or nature recovery.

Three key areas where they can add value:

1. Botanical Surveys & Habitat Assessment: FISC Level 5 botanist with extensive experience in NVC, UKHab, botanical surveys and habitat mapping, including large-scale ecological monitoring programmes.

2. Botany Training & CPD: Experienced trainer who has designed and delivered professional CPD courses in plant identification, habitat classification and specialist botany, helping ecology teams strengthen their technical capabilities.

3. Habitat Banking, Natural Capital & Nature Recovery: Strong background in ecological monitoring, habitat assessment and BNG, with a particular interest in habitat banking, rewilding and nature-based solutions.

Location: North East, open to Newcastle, York, Leeds and Sheffield.

Salary: Circa £50,000, flexible for the right opportunity.

Availability: January 2027.
