Salary: £45,000 – £65,000+ DOE

We're supporting a well-established geo-environmental consultancy in the search for a Senior or Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their Glasgow team. This is an opportunity to become part of a collaborative business with a strong technical reputation and a diverse portfolio of projects across Scotland and the wider UK.

You'll have the chance to lead projects from inception through to completion, work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and help develop the next generation of engineers. What You'll Be Doing

You'll take ownership of projects and provide technical leadership across a varied workload, including:

  • Managing geo-environmental and geotechnical investigations from proposal stage through to completion.

  • Leading contaminated land risk assessments and developing remediation strategies.

  • Producing and reviewing Phase I and Phase II reports and providing technical guidance to colleagues.

  • Managing project programmes, budgets and client relationships.

  • Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and graduates.

  • Working alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical and commercially focused solutions.

  • Contributing to business development and helping to strengthen existing client relationships.

  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a consistently high technical standard.

About You

You'll likely have several years' experience within a geo-environmental or contaminated land consultancy and be confident managing projects and communicating with clients.

You may already be operating at Principal level or be an experienced Senior Engineer looking for greater responsibility and a clear route for progression.

You'll have experience in:

  • Phase I and Phase II site investigations.

  • Contaminated land risk assessment and reporting.

  • Ground investigation and data interpretation.

  • Managing projects and coordinating fieldwork.

  • Developing strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

A degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline is expected. Progress towards Chartered status would be advantageous.

Location & Flexibility

Based in Glasgow, this role offers a blend of office, home and site-based working. Some travel to sites across Scotland and the wider UK will be required, with flexibility built around project requirements.
