About the Role

A respected independent environmental consultancy is looking to appoint both Senior and Principal Environmental Permitting Consultants to join its specialist permitting team.

Represented by Ocean to Earth Recruitment, this opportunity is ideal for experienced environmental professionals with strong knowledge of permitting and regulatory frameworks across the waste management and industrial sectors.

With over 35 years of industry expertise, this consultancy delivers technically robust environmental and regulatory solutions across landfill, waste treatment, hazardous waste, waste recovery and industrial operations throughout the UK. The business is known for its collaborative culture, technical excellence and practical approach to solving complex environmental challenges.

The Role

You will support the delivery of Environmental Permitting projects across a range of waste and industrial activities, providing technical expertise and helping clients navigate complex environmental legislation and compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing permit applications, environmental risk assessments and technical reports
• Providing technical advice on Environmental Permitting Regulations, PPC and Waste Management Licensing
• Reviewing environmental monitoring data and supporting compliance projects
• Liaising with clients, the Environment Agency and local authorities
• Managing projects and supporting wider team delivery
• Supporting technically complex waste and industrial sector developments

About You

• Proven experience within Environmental Permitting
• Strong understanding of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks
• Experience across waste, landfill, hazardous waste or industrial operations
• Strong communication and report writing skills
• Previous project management experience
• Relevant environmental qualification
• CIWM membership advantageous
• Full UK driving licence
