Senior/Principal Ecologist

About the Role
The Opportunity
Perhaps you're an experienced Senior Ecologist ready for the next step, or already operating at Principal level but looking for a role where you can focus on delivering great work rather than managing a large team.
This is an opportunity to join a growing, employee-owned consultancy where ecology and landscape architecture work hand in hand to create places with lasting value. As the ecology team continues to expand, you'll have the chance to influence its direction, build trusted relationships with clients and work on projects that are shaped by a deep respect for the character and ecology of the landscape.
You'll be trusted with autonomy, supported by talented colleagues and given the freedom to develop your career in a business that values sustainable growth over rapid expansion.
The Company
This design-led consultancy believes that great places endure. Their work is rooted in an understanding that while surroundings evolve, the natural identity and DNA of a place remain constant. Through thoughtful, landscape-led design, they create environments that stand the test of time rather than follow short-lived trends.
Curiosity and discovery are central to how they work. Every project benefits from fresh thinking, multiple perspectives and a willingness to challenge conventional approaches. Whether working with communities, clients or fellow disciplines, they are always looking for better ways to create meaningful places for people and nature.
Empathy sits at the heart of their culture. Listening carefully—to clients, to communities and to the environment itself—helps them understand what makes places unique. It creates stronger relationships, richer experiences and outcomes everyone can be proud of.
Still relatively small, the business has grown steadily and sustainably. Collaboration comes naturally, bureaucracy is kept to a minimum, and people are trusted to use their expertise and make a genuine contribution. Ecology is highly valued and closely integrated with landscape architecture, creating a collaborative environment where ideas are shared and disciplines work together to achieve the best outcomes.
