About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment is working with a leading multidisciplinary environmental planning and design consultancy to recruit a Senior Landscape Architect.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing landscape team, delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across renewable energy, residential development, infrastructure, commercial schemes and historic landscapes.

Our client is involved in some of the UK's and Europe's largest solar and battery storage developments, alongside a strong pipeline of projects across the wider built and natural environment.

The position offers an interesting balance of landscape design, technical delivery, landscape assessment and project management, with opportunities to develop your leadership skills and progress your career within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

The Role

As a Senior Landscape Architect, you will take responsibility for delivering landscape architecture projects through the planning and design stages, working collaboratively with colleagues across ecology, planning, engineering and other environmental disciplines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing landscape designs, masterplans, planting proposals and technical drawings.

  • Delivering projects from initial concept through to detailed design across RIBA Work Stages.

  • Preparing and contributing to Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA), Townscape and Visual Impact Assessments (TVIA) and supporting planning documentation.

  • Producing detailed hard and soft landscape drawings, planting specifications and Landscape Management Plans.

  • Undertaking site assessments, landscape surveys and technical research.

  • Coordinating landscape information with architects, planners, ecologists, engineers and external consultants.

  • Managing project workstreams, deadlines and deliverables.

  • Supporting project budgets, programmes, fee proposals and tender submissions.

  • Building positive relationships with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.

  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior Landscape Architects.

About You

We are interested in speaking with experienced Landscape Architects who enjoy combining creative design with technical expertise and are ready to take greater ownership of project delivery.

Ideally, you will have:

  • A Landscape Institute-accredited degree or postgraduate qualification in Landscape Architecture.

  • Experience working within a landscape architecture or multidisciplinary consultancy.

  • Strong landscape design, technical drawing and presentation skills.

  • Experience delivering projects across RIBA Work Stages.

  • An understanding of LVIA and landscape planning requirements.

  • Experience preparing detailed planting plans, hard and soft landscape drawings and Landscape Management Plans.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software, Adobe Creative Suite and planting design software such as Keyscape.

  • Good organisational, communication and project coordination skills.

  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

  • A full UK driving licence.

Desirable experience includes:

  • Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI), or working towards chartership.

  • Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, residential, commercial or public realm projects.

  • Project management experience, including budgets, programmes and resources.

  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior colleagues.

  • Knowledge of the UK planning system and landscape assessment processes.

What's on Offer?

Our client offers a supportive and collaborative working environment, with genuine opportunities for professional development and career progression.

Benefits include:

  • Competitive salary and flexible hybrid working.

  • Enhanced annual leave, plus additional loyalty leave of up to five days.

  • Enhanced company pension.

  • Private medical insurance and BUPA Cash Plan.

  • Protected CPD and professional body membership contributions.

  • Structured career progression, with two defined promotion windows annually.

  • Non-contractual growth bonus scheme.

  • Death in service cover.

  • Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing support.

  • Discounted gym membership and additional employee benefits.

  • Cycle to work scheme.

Why Apply?

This opportunity could be particularly appealing if you are looking to:

  • Work on a wider variety of landscape architecture projects, including major renewable energy developments.

  • Develop your technical expertise across both landscape design and landscape assessment.

  • Take greater responsibility for project delivery and client relationships.

  • Work alongside experienced professionals across a broad range of environmental disciplines.

  • Progress towards Principal or Associate-level responsibilities within a growing consultancy.
