About the Role

We are recruiting for a Senior Hydrogeologist to join a growing team delivering hydrogeological, groundwater, water resources and flood risk projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with project leadership, client engagement and mentoring responsibilities.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary environmental team, you will lead projects from inception through to completion, ensuring high-quality technical delivery, strong client relationships and successful commercial outcomes.

The Role

As a Senior Hydrogeologist, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the delivery of hydrogeological, groundwater, water resources and flood risk projects
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously, including programmes, budgets and resource allocation
  • Preparing and reviewing technical reports, risk assessments, conceptual site models and groundwater assessments
  • Planning and supervising site investigations, monitoring programmes and pumping tests
  • Supporting the preparation of fee proposals, scopes of work and cost estimates
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, regulators and stakeholders
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members and contributing to their professional development
  • Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary environmental projects
  • Maintaining technical excellence through continued professional development and industry engagement

About You

We would love to hear from candidates who have:

  • A degree in Geology or a related discipline
  • An MSc in Hydrogeology or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong experience within hydrogeology, groundwater or water resources consultancy
  • Experience managing projects independently, including budgets and programmes
  • Knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks and experience liaising with regulators and consultees
  • Excellent report writing and technical assessment skills
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A full UK driving licence

Desirable Experience

Applications are particularly welcomed from candidates who have:

  • Chartered status, or are working towards Chartered Geologist (CGeol) or Chartered Scientist (CSci)
  • Groundwater modelling experience
  • GIS and spatial data management skills
  • Consultancy business development experience, including fee proposals and client development
  • A proactive and innovative approach to problem solving
