The opportunity
Our client has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality environmental planning services across both the public and private sectors. Their work spans:

Sustainability Appraisal (SA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA)
-
Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA), including nutrient neutrality
-
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
They work with a diverse client base including local authorities, statutory bodies, landowners, and developers, contributing to projects that shape how places evolve and grow sustainably.

The role
As a Senior Environmental Consultant, you will take on a varied and influential position within the team. Responsibilities include:

Undertaking site assessments and technical analysis

Producing and contributing to high-quality environmental reports

Acting as a key point of client liaison
-
Collaborating with colleagues and attending client and stakeholder meetings
-
Providing guidance and support to junior team members
-
Supporting business development, including bid writing
About you
We are keen to speak with candidates who are both technically strong and motivated to grow their influence within a consultancy environment.

Degree (and ideally MSc) in environmental science or a related discipline
-
3+ years’ professional experience in a relevant role
-
Strong knowledge of UK environmental planning legislation and policy
-
Demonstrable experience producing reports for public consultation
-
Membership/Chartership with IEMA or equivalent
-
Strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable:
-
Experience using GIS software (ArcGIS)
-
Broader exposure across environmental disciplines
-
Involvement in business development or bid preparation

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000, depending on experience
