About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a multi-award-winning environmental consultancy in their search for a Senior Ecologist. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a thriving team making a genuine difference across England and Wales.

🌱 The Role

This position is perfect for an experienced Ecologist – or someone ready to step up into a senior role – who thrives on variety and responsibility. You’ll be involved in a diverse portfolio of projects, including:

  • Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs) and EcIAs

  • Protected species surveys and licence applications

  • Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and UK Habitat condition assessments

  • Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRA, stages 1 & 2)

  • Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans (HMMPs)

As a Senior Ecologist, you’ll play a vital role in co-ordinating ecological services, supporting your team, and managing projects from start to finish. Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance your own workload will be essential.

The role is based at a dog-friendly office near Worcester, with flexibility for hybrid working.

💷 Salary & Benefits

This consultancy offers an excellent working environment and a generous package, including:

  • £33,000 – £40,000, depending on experience

🌍 What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • At least 4 years’ consultancy experience as an Ecologist

  • Strong field skills and an established area of specialism

  • Solid experience with BNG assessments and botanical skills

  • Proficiency with protected species work (bats, dormice, GCN) and relevant licences

  • In-depth knowledge of environmental legislation, planning policy, and Appropriate Assessment

  • Full/Associate CIEEM membership

  • A CSCS card (advantageous but not essential)
