About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and fast-growing environmental consultancy based on the beautiful Sussex coast. We are supporting them in their search for a talented and enthusiastic Senior Ecologist to join their collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.

This consultancy works across a wide range of sectors and offers genuine opportunities for professional growth and collaboration, alongside landscape architects, planners, and arboricultural specialists. It’s an ideal role for someone ready to step into a senior position while maintaining work-life balance and contributing to impactful environmental projects.


The Role

As a Senior Ecologist, you’ll take a leading role in both technical delivery and mentoring responsibilities. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Managing client relationships and project delivery

  • Preparing and reviewing ecological reports and assessments

  • Producing protected species licence applications and mitigation strategies

  • Supporting and mentoring junior ecologists

  • Working closely with a collaborative team on varied and rewarding projects


What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Minimum of 4–5 years’ experience in ecological consultancy

  • Full membership of CIEEM (or eligibility)

  • At least one Natural England protected species licence (bats, GCN, or dormouse preferred)

  • Experience in ecological assessments: PEA, PRA, EcIA, BNG

  • Strong botanical knowledge and familiarity with UKHab classifications

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable:

  • Experience as a named ecologist on EPS mitigation licences
