About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment are delighted to partner with a multi-disciplinary consultancy that brings together Landscape Architecture, Ecology and Arboriculture under one roof — a firm distinguished by its unwavering commitment to sustainability, creativity, and positive Impact on Climate & Nature.

Why this opportunity stands out

  • Integrated expertise. This is not a “landscape only” firm. You’ll be part of a team that routinely collaborates across Ecology and Arboriculture to deliver technically rigorous AND creatively rich outcomes.

  • Purpose-driven. The company undertakes significant pro-bono work, as well as commercial commissions, to deliver positive impacts for our natural environment.

  • Friendly, passionate culture. They pride themselves on being collaborative, supportive, and yes — genuinely having a bit of fun at work.

  • Diverse portfolio. From large-scale private residential to leisure, hospitality and commercial developments— you’ll be exposed to a broad range of project types.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading on Landscape & Planning deliverables, especially specialising in LVIA (Landscape Visual Impact Assessment).

  • Working across the UK planning system with confidence— guiding schemes through the planning stage, preparing robust documentation and presenting compelling design narratives.

  • Collaborating with multi-discipline teams (Ecology, Arboriculture) to deliver holistic solutions.

  • Contributing to growth of the business and helping to shape the future of the practice.

Key requirements

  • Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI).

  • A minimum of ~3+ years' industry experience, ideally with strong exposure to planning and LVIA work.

  • Proven track record of delivering robust LVIAs and navigating the planning system.

  • Full UK driver’s licence and access to your own transportation.

  • Strong communication, teamwork skills, and design flair.

Sample Projects You’ll Be Involved With

Below are just three examples of the high-calibre work the consultancy undertakes:

  1. Using Environmental Net Gain for Sustainable Development Plans in Toddington
A project where the team delivered a strategic ecological and landscape-led planning scheme with a strong emphasis on net-gain outcomes.

  2. Natural Capital Appraisal – Brudenell Estates
Demonstrating how natural capital thinking intersects with landscape planning to add value and resilience to large-scale estates.

  3. Achieving Planning Consent for a Broad Scheme in Oxford
An example of complex planning and landscape coordination in a challenging context, achieving successful consent outcomes.

Why you should apply

Joining this consultancy means being part of something more than the usual design job. You’ll …

  • Work on impactful, meaningful projects where landscape, ecology and arboriculture interplay in an integrated way.

  • Be supported in a vibrant team culture that values both professionalism and personality.

  • Grow your career in a business that genuinely cares about sustainability, nature-positive outcomes and creativity.

  • Enjoy strong variety in your workload, opportunities to take ownership and make a difference.

If you’re a forward-thinking, technically sound Chartered Landscape Architect with an appetite for planning + LVIA and a desire to join a consultancy that stands for something bigger than just design — we’d love to hear from you.
