Ocean to Earth Recruitment is supporting a well-established and highly regarded environmental consultancy in the search for a Principal Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Consultant. This is a senior opportunity for someone who wants to shape complex projects and ensure environmental considerations are fully embedded in development from the outset.
The opportunity
You will play a central role in delivering Environmental Impact Assessments for large-scale infrastructure and development projects across sectors such as transport, renewable energy and property.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will coordinate environmental inputs throughout the project lifecycle, from early-stage strategy and feasibility through to detailed design and consent. This is a role that combines technical leadership with client engagement, offering both responsibility and variety.
What you will be doing
- Leading and managing complex, multidisciplinary EIA projects
- Coordinating environmental inputs across design, assessment and delivery stages
- Preparing and reviewing screening, scoping and Environmental Statement documentation
- Working closely with technical specialists to integrate environmental solutions into design
- Engaging with clients, stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Supporting project planning, budgeting and programme delivery
- Contributing to bid preparation and business development activities
- Providing guidance and oversight to junior team members
About you
You bring a strong foundation in EIA and a clear ability to lead projects with confidence and precision. You are comfortable working across disciplines and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
Your experience is likely to include:
- A relevant degree in environmental science, EIA or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of UK EIA processes and legislation
- Proven experience delivering and leading complex EIA projects
- Broad awareness of environmental topics within development contexts
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Strong organisational and project management capability
- Experience managing budgets and project delivery
- Confidence supporting or mentoring junior colleagues
- Exposure to bid preparation or business development
