Their success is built on the expertise, ambition, and integrity of their people. They foster a forward-thinking, collaborative culture with a strong “can-do” attitude—supporting innovation, professional growth, and meaningful career development. Through their work, they aim to create a positive and lasting environmental legacy.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Hydraulic Engineer to play a hands-on role in shaping Ireland’s environmental future. One day you may be assisting with groundwater monitoring well installations; the next, interpreting data and developing conceptual site models.

You will join a large and highly regarded Water and Geoenvironmental team working on a diverse range of projects across Ireland. The role will involve both desk-based and field-based work and will focus on:

  • Fish passage improvement

  • River restoration

  • Flood management

  • Drainage design

  • Hydraulic and hydrological modelling

The position involves travel within Ireland and occasional overnight stays. It is a permanent role within a supportive and collaborative environment, offering excellent opportunities for career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver hydraulic and hydrological projects

  • Analyse hydraulic scenarios relating to flooding, drainage, and fish passage

  • Prepare technical specifications and bills of quantities for site investigations

  • Interpret field data and develop hydraulic models

  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure efficient project delivery

  • Support multidisciplinary colleagues, including geologists and environmental scientists

  • Contribute to project proposals and business development activities

  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree (preferably MSc) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline

  • Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience in hydraulic engineering or related projects

  • Proven design experience on hydraulic engineering projects

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines

  • Excellent written and spoken English with strong interpersonal skills

  • Full, clean driving licence

Desirable Experience

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Experience using AutoCAD and GIS software

  • Hydraulic and/or hydrological modelling experience (e.g. HEC-RAS)

  • Knowledge of fish passage improvement design and implementation

  • Experience across different stages of project delivery

What’s on Offer

A competitive salary and benefits package is available, reflecting the value you will bring to the role. Ongoing professional development, training, and long-term career progression are actively supported within a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
