This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around 2–3 years’ experience who has developed a solid grounding in site investigation and geo-environmental consultancy and is now looking for greater project exposure, technical development and long-term career progression.

You will join an experienced team delivering practical geo-environmental solutions across a varied portfolio of development projects throughout Scotland and the wider UK.

The role

You will be involved across both site-based and technical aspects of projects, including:

  • Overseeing and supervising site investigation works
  • Soil and rock logging and environmental sampling
  • Supporting Phase 1 desk studies and Phase 2 site investigations
  • Assisting with contaminated land and ground condition assessments
  • Interpreting site investigation and laboratory data
  • Preparing technical reports and recommendations
  • Supporting remediation, verification and validation projects
  • Liaising with colleagues, contractors, laboratories and clients
  • Ensuring site work is undertaken safely and to appropriate technical standards

The wider team works across contaminated land, geotechnical and land engineering, historical mining and land stabilisation, remediation and verification, giving you the opportunity to broaden your technical experience as your career develops.

About you

You will ideally have:

  • Around 2–3 years’ experience within geo-environmental or geotechnical consultancy
  • A relevant degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Practical experience overseeing ground investigations
  • Experience of soil and rock logging
  • An understanding of contaminated land and geo-environmental site investigation
  • Good technical reporting and communication skills
  • A practical, organised approach to project delivery
  • A full UK driving licence

Most importantly, you will be keen to continue developing technically within a supportive specialist consultancy where you can gain exposure to projects from initial investigation through to remediation and validation.

Why consider this opportunity?

You will be joining an established and growing consultancy with a strong technical reputation and a hands-on approach to project delivery. The environment offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced senior professionals, take on increasing responsibility and develop your career across a broad range of geo-environmental projects.
