About the Role

Guided by our values of Integrity, Respect, and Growth, we’re representing a consultancy who are looking for a Flood Risk & Drainage Consultant to join their thriving Water Services team.

This is an exciting chance to work on some of the UK’s most innovative and large-scale developments, shaping sustainable solutions in flood risk and drainage management.

The Role

You’ll be supporting and delivering flood and drainage projects from concept through to completion. Your work will directly contribute to sustainable planning, resilient infrastructure, and greener growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, and supporting planning documents.

  • Designing sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and creating technical drawings and plans.

  • Supporting flood risk reviews for investors and developers.

  • Collaborating closely with clients and colleagues across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Exploring wider service areas such as nutrient neutrality and ESG where relevant.

About You

We’re looking for someone who combines technical skill with a collaborative, forward-thinking approach.

  • Degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or similar (or equivalent experience).

  • 2–4 years’ experience in flood risk or drainage consultancy.

  • Familiarity with UK planning and environmental regulations.

  • Strong communicator with a proactive, solution-focused attitude.

  • Confident working directly with clients and in teams.

  • Experience using GIS software (QGIS or similar).

  • Enthusiasm for ongoing learning and progression toward chartership.
