About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment is working with a growing environmental consultancy to recruit an Ecologist to join their team in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of projects, including residential developments, Biodiversity Net Gain assessments and major infrastructure schemes such as road and rail.

You will be joining a collaborative and well-established ecology team, with opportunities to work closely with experienced professionals across the business. The organisation also works closely with a sister company, providing wider project exposure and allowing ecologists to gain two signatories on protected species licences, helping you progress and obtain licences more efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake habitat and protected species surveys

  • Prepare technical ecological reports

  • Support tender submissions and fee proposals

  • Assist with project coordination and survey management

  • Work collaboratively with a large, experienced ecology team

Requirements

  • 3–5 years’ experience in ecological consultancy

  • Experience with protected species or habitat surveys

  • Working towards or holding a bat, GCN or dormouse licence

  • Knowledge of UK environmental legislation and planning policy

  • CIEEM membership (or working towards it)

  • Degree in Ecology or related discipline

  • Full UK driving licence
