About the Role

Imagine working where rolling countryside meets rugged coastline. Ocean to Earth Recruitment is partnering with a well-established environmental consultancy seeking experienced Ecological Consultants and Senior Ecological Consultants to join their South Coast team. From surveying protected heathlands to assessing coastal habitats, you’ll be helping to shape and protect the biodiversity of some of England’s most stunning landscapes.

The Role
You’ll be involved in a wide variety of projects, including:

  • Baseline ecological surveys and habitat assessments

  • Reporting and impact analysis for planning applications

  • Mitigation design and biodiversity net gain assessments

  • Innovative habitat banking and conservation initiatives

You’ll enjoy working in a collaborative, supportive team where your expertise directly helps wildlife and communities thrive. And with your work taking you across Devon, Dorset, and Hampshire, every day is a chance to experience new landscapes—from the Jurassic Coast to New Forest woodlands.

What’s on Offer

  • £33,500 – £39,500 salary (DOE)

  • Paid overtime and TOIL

  • 24 days annual leave (rising to 35 with seniority)

  • Flexible and remote working options

  • Discretionary performance-related bonus

  • Employee assistance programme

  • Personalised training and career development opportunities

  • The chance to work in some of the UK’s most beautiful natural settings

Who We’re Looking For
You’ll have experience in ecological consultancy, particularly in habitat surveys, reporting, and project management. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as you’ll liaise closely with clients and colleagues.

Desirable (but not essential) experience includes:

  • Protected species licences

  • A valid CSCS card

  • Full UK driving licence (essential for South Coast travel)

About Our Client
With over 30 years of experience, our client is a natural environment consultancy dedicated to protecting and restoring biodiversity while supporting sustainable outcomes. Their projects safeguard habitats, enhance wildlife, and tackle climate challenges head-on.

By joining their South Coast team, you’ll play a key role in delivering this vision—and enjoy a career that balances meaningful conservation work with the lifestyle benefits of living and working near the coast, national parks, and outstanding countryside.
