About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment are excited to be supporting a leading environmental consultancy in their search for a passionate and driven Associate Arboricultural Consultant to join their expanding Arboriculture team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious arboricultural professional looking to take the next step in their career, with genuine scope for progression, technical development, and the chance to shape the growth of the team across the London and Southwest region.

About the Consultancy

This is not your typical consultancy. They thrive on innovation, creativity, and doing things differently. Their culture is built around care, collaboration, and celebration – creating an environment where every day combines meaningful work, honest conversations, and plenty of laughs.

One of the many ways they invest in their people is through a 4-day working week – you’ll receive 100% of the pay for 80% of the time, enabling a healthier work-life balance while making a real impact in the field of ecology, arboriculture, and landscape consultancy.

You’ll be surrounded by supportive colleagues who not only cheer you on but also encourage you to share your ideas and help shape the business for the future.

The Opportunity

As an Associate Arboricultural Consultant, you’ll:

  • Deliver high-quality arboricultural planning services across the London and Southwest region.

  • Play a pivotal role in developing the arboriculture business strategy – from diversifying services to creating new work streams.

  • Work directly with clients, advising on all aspects of BS5837 consultancy and arboricultural planning.

  • Lead and contribute to projects across residential, commercial, renewable energy, infrastructure, and estate management sectors.

  • Prepare and deliver planning documents including Arboricultural Impact Assessments, Method Statements, TPO applications, and site promotion work.

  • Collaborate with wider landscape and ecology teams to promote interdisciplinary working.

  • Build strong, lasting relationships with clients and help grow the pipeline of opportunities in the region.

  • Mentor and guide junior team members, contributing to the growth and development of the team.

  • Drive technical innovation within the arboriculture team.

  • Ensure high-quality delivery through technical review and client-focused outcomes.

About You

We’re looking to connect with arboricultural professionals who:

  • Have strong experience in BS5837 consultancy and arboricultural planning within the UK.

  • Hold an academic qualification in arboriculture or a related environmental discipline.

  • Possess technical (or higher) membership with the Arboricultural Association.

  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge of the UK planning system in relation to trees.

  • Ideally have experience using AutoCAD and GIS.

  • Are skilled communicators, confident in both written and verbal client engagement.

  • Have some experience mentoring or supporting junior colleagues.

  • Bring strong organisational and project management skills.

  • Are proactive, solution-focused, and aligned with values of innovation, care, and collaboration.

Why Join?

  • 4-day working week with full-time salary.

  • A culture that values people, celebrates achievements, and prioritises well-being.

  • Genuine career progression and professional development opportunities.

  • The chance to work on diverse, high-profile projects across multiple sectors.

  • Be part of a business that’s making a real difference in the world of environmental consultancy.
