Aquatic Ecologists - all levels
Meet Our Recruiter
About the Role
Ocean to Earth Recruitment is working with a thriving and growing ecology consultancy looking to strengthen its aquatic ecology capability.
We are interested in speaking with aquatic ecology professionals from Consultant level upwards who would like to join an established consultancy where they can contribute to a varied workload and help develop the aquatic ecology offering as the team continues to grow.
The role
Depending on your level of experience, you could be involved in a combination of fieldwork, technical assessment, reporting, project management and client liaison.
The consultancy is particularly interested in people with experience across freshwater and aquatic ecology. Relevant experience could include:
• Freshwater ecological surveys and assessments
• River, stream, pond and wetland ecology
• Aquatic habitat assessment
• Water Framework Directive assessments
• Macroinvertebrate, fish, macrophyte or other aquatic survey work
• Ecological impact assessment and technical reporting
• Biodiversity and habitat assessment
• Water quality and aquatic environmental monitoring
• GIS and data interpretation
• Client liaison and project management
You do not need experience across every area. We are keen to hear from aquatic specialists with different technical backgrounds and levels of experience.
Who we are looking for
You will ideally have consultancy experience within aquatic, freshwater or water-related ecology and a relevant degree in ecology, environmental science, freshwater biology, aquatic ecology or a related discipline.
For more senior appointments, experience managing projects, preparing technical reports, liaising with clients and regulators, supporting junior colleagues or contributing to proposals and business development would be particularly valuable.
Location
The consultancy is ideally looking for someone based between Manchester and the South Midlands, although there may be flexibility for the right person depending on experience and location.
Why consider the opportunity?
This is a chance to join a successful ecology consultancy at an interesting stage of its growth. You will become part of an established ecology team while helping to strengthen its aquatic expertise.
There is scope for experienced consultants to take on greater responsibility, develop their technical specialism and contribute to the longer-term development of the aquatic ecology service.
