About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established, innovative ecological consultancy in their search for a talented Senior Ecologist to join their expanding team.

Since their founding in 2015, our client has experienced consistent growth, earning a reputation for technical excellence, pragmatic advice, and outstanding client service. Their industry success has been widely recognised, including a nomination for Best Small Consultancy by CIEEM. Due to their continued success, they are looking for an experienced ecologist to play a key role in their supportive, dynamic team.

Some travel and overnight stays are expected, but the company is proactive in protecting work-life balance with caps on unsociable hours.

  • Proven project management and field team leadership skills

  • Excellent written communication and report writing abilities

  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively, often in remote locations

  • Effective communication skills with colleagues, clients, and third parties

  • Experience preparing or supporting EPSM licence applications

  • Confident designing surveys and quoting for work

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable Extras

  • Advanced skills in a specialist ecological area

  • CIEEM membership (or eligibility for membership)

  • Degree or equivalent in an ecology-related discipline

  • Proficiency in QGIS or ArcGIS

  • Experience in mentoring and line managing junior staff

  • Business development and networking skills

  • Successful EPSM licence applications for protected species
