We are seeking a Senior/Associate Ecologist to join their growing team in Chester. You will collaborate with landscape architects and engineering teams, fostering a holistic approach to nature-led design. With the external environment being the foundation for all the work they do. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expand, manage, and support the ecology team.
  • Provide ecological input for planning applications and consents, including field surveys and report writing.
  • Contribute to business development and work acquisition.
  • Collaborate with internal and external design team members, clients, and technical specialists.
  • Prepare fee proposals, manage budgets, and control program delivery for ecological projects.
  • Integrate ecological expertise with landscape and engineering disciplines.

About You:

  • Are you an experienced ecologist with a proven track record in consultancy?
  • Are you organised, goal-oriented, and proactive in finding solutions?
  • Can you think creatively and are willing to go the extra mile?
  • Do you have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills?
  • Are you committed to your personal and professional development and eager to share your knowledge?

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Ecology or a related field with significant project delivery experience.
  • Membership in a professional body such as CIEEM or CIWEM.
  • A full UK driving license and your own car.
  • In-depth knowledge of biodiversity net gain, net benefit for biodiversity in Wales, and UK wildlife legislation.
  • Proficiency in ecological surveys, calendar planning, and reporting.
